Art
Our Art Curriculum:
"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for."
Georgia O'Keeffe
Our vision for art:
At St Bartholomew’s we are committed to providing a varied, progressive, interesting, engaging and enjoyable art curriculum which will inspire and challenge our children, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to experiment, invent and create their own works of art and design. Our vision is for them to maximise their creativity and use art effectively to express their feelings and ideas.
The skills of a great art student:
- Perseverance to work hard and to improve their skills and techniques in drawing, painting and sculpting.
- The ability to explore, communicate and express themselves, their ideas and their feelings through their artwork.
- Confidence to experiment with their own, individual artistic representation and style.
- An understanding and knowledge of different artists - their style, history and impact upon the world.
- The ability to critically evaluate their own pieces of art and design.
